Holy Thursday - Maundy Thursday
Holy Thursday is also known as Maundy Thursday. There are other names such as Great and Holy Thursday or the Thursday of Mysteries. It is celebrated by Christians and recognised to be the Thursday just before Easter. It honors the memory of the last supper of holy Jesus.
The last supper was with Jesus and his apostles. Speaking of the apostles, in Australia there is a world known wonder of the world known as the twelve apostles. Holy Thursday is the fifth day of the Holy Week. Holy Week is the week before Easter. Holy Week includes other religious holidays known as Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
There are many great works of art and literature inspired by the last supper. A famous work of art is the painting by Leonardo da Vinci called the "Last Supper". It is a mural painting of the supper containing Jesus and his apostles. It is a very famous piece of work that has sparked lots of interests and studies.
There are many Thursdays in a year and this Holy Thursday is one of the very important Thursdays of the entire year. Easter Sunday is on the Sunday of the very same week as Maundy Thursday. For many Easter marks the day of giving and receiving Easter eggs. For others it marks one of the most important times of the year. Especially for christians, Easter is the most important day in the calender.
Many people in the workforce love Easter because it is the time when you get a very long weekend. Most companies give you Good Friday up till and including Easter Monday off. It is celebrated just like Christmas is, but isn't as spectacular. Unlike Christmas when gifts of all kinds are given, Easter is mainly represented by the giving of Easter eggs and chocolates.
During this Easter holiday a good thing to do is some money making. Click here to find out more: http://makemoneyonlinewithbuzz.blogspot.com/
